One of the nicest state parks in NY with great facilities and numerous views of the St. Lawrence River that will make you want to stay forever. A camp store with every possible item you may need while camping. Amazing playgrounds for the kids and special events on occasion to entertain the family. A perfect way to create some of the greatest memories.
I know they're getting some age on them, but at least they could be clean.
This is such a nice state park in terms of its location: very close to Boldt Castle. It has nice camping spots, although some are very close together.
I really enjoyed my stay at Wellesley Island State Park. There are many many campsites to choose from, but if you really want to have a great time, be sure to reserve a waterside site quite a bit before your stay, because they go fast. The State Park is getting a 4/5 stars because during my stay, the staff were very lacking in quieting people down after around midnight. Most nights, there was at least 1 campsite near us that would be blaring music well into the morning.
Love this place. If you are an off season traveler you will too. Well maintained. Boat rentals and launch. Can't wait for nature center to open back up. .
We had cottage "C" and it was a dump. We used the bathroom facilities at the marina every day when we came in from fishing and I don't think it was cleaned once in that week.
One problem we had: We had to leave soon after checking in due to an unexpected illness. They said they would call and let us know about rescheduling our reservation, but they never did.
We've been staying at the cottages on Eel Bay for the last 12-13 years.
